City Drug APPE Rotation Overview

City Drug offers a unique Advanced Community Pharmacy APPE designed for students who want to experience the full scope of modern independent pharmacy practice. In addition to traditional community pharmacy, students gain exposure to nonsterile compounding, long-term care pharmacy, medication synchronization, compliance packaging, and innovative patient care services.

Students will also have the opportunity to learn the business side of pharmacy, including pharmacy operations, leadership, marketing, provider relationships, workflow optimization, and the strategies behind growing a successful independent pharmacy.

This rotation is ideal for students interested in community pharmacy, compounding, entrepreneurship, pharmacy ownership, or leadership. Our goal is to provide a hands-on, well-rounded experience that prepares future pharmacists to excel in both patient care and the evolving business of pharmacy.

Housing

City Drug Pharmacy is pleased to offer complimentary housing for pharmacy students during their rotation, subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis. The apartment is conveniently located just five minutes from the pharmacy and features two bedrooms, with one furnished as a bedroom and the other set up as an office or study space. It is fully furnished and includes a fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary cookware, dishes, and utensils. The apartment also offers in-unit laundry facilities and two assigned parking spaces, providing students with a comfortable and convenient place to stay while completing their rotation at City Drug Pharmacy.
